As an experienced therapist my aim is to help you work through whatever is troubling you and enable you to make a sustainable change for the better.

Anxiety & Depression

So have you ever noticed how often you say one thing when you mean another? Those times you tell your partner off for leaving the wet towel on the floor or the loo seat up, when really you’re cross because of something else more important that they didn’t do. Or, when they ask if you’re ok and you say you’re fine, even though you’re not? These are some of the small ways we start to mis-communicate that can lead to the bigger things not being said – and so often it’s just a misunderstanding.
We all have different ways of seeing the world. Some people are very visual and seeing their partner looking nice for them is really important. But what happens if they live in an audio world and hearing what you think of them is what floats their boat? Stress, at certain levels, is something we need to keep us going and it enables us to take on new challenges. But when it gets too much and everything feels overwhelming, then you know you're over stressed. Trauma comes in many different shapes and sizes. Any event that has left you with a significant emotional scar can be thought of as trauma. But there is no need to suffer. It is possible to reframe and reduce the emotions connected to traumatic events so that, although the memory is still there, it no longer has the impact it once had. It isn't necessary to re-live the event over and over again in order to get rid of it. The techniques I use are designed to be as unintrusive as possibe whilst allowing change to happen as rapidly as necessary to clear the emotions.
